Extending Our Innovation

As a former CIO turned CEO, I can’t help but be excited about the rapidly shifting technology landscape. For years, IT leaders have tried everything to compress and minimize the cost, footprint and complexity of managing the ever-increasing deluge of data. I know, I was one of them.

These same leaders are now looking for innovative new ways to use this data to create forward-leaning, potentially disruptive opportunities for companies. To maximize the value of data, they’re moving to more flexible, scalable multi cloud environments; embracing DevOps for more agile development; and building cloud native, containerized applications to meet their company’s dynamic needs.

With this comes increasing complexity and data fragmentation across disparate, complex infrastructure silos, storage environments and applications. Which makes it harder for companies to protect, manage, govern and use this data with the resources and skills they have today.

We intend to solve this with our acquisition of Hedvig . Together, we expect that our forthcoming unified data management and software-defined storage capabilities will eliminate the dreaded vendor lock-in and overcome this fragmented, complex world by providing companies with the abstraction, management and portability needed to use the data no matter where it resides physically or virtually. In other words, we’ll make it easier to access, move, manage, protect and use information across multiple applications, infrastructures or clouds with the resources you have today.

But don’t just listen to me. Check out this short video featuring Hedvig’s Co-Founder and CEO Avinash Lakshman and our own Chief Product Officer Rajiv Kottomtharayil.

For more than 20 years, Commvault has met customers’ needs and earned their trust by delivering solutions and services for their data management needs.

And we have only just begun. Our acquisition of Hedvig extends our already-rich innovation roadmap to enable us to provide the industry-standard solution for our customers’ storage and data readiness needs in the coming days and for years to come.

Our mutual customer, Pittsburg State University of Kansas recently shared its excitement about how the Commvault/Hedvig technology combination will benefit them – now and in the future. We’ll be discussing this in much greater detail at our annual Commvault GO customer conference in October, so don’t miss it.

Until then, stay tuned for more Commvault and Hedvig news.
